Stalls & Aisleway

The aisleway and stalls are set on a firm gravel base with drainage tile and stabilizing Equiterr. As a result, horses benefit from soft and comfortable footing that does not deteriorate with traffic and only needs the occasional addition of sand. Five frost-free hydrants facilitate watering the horses and aisleway even during harsh winter months.

GFCI outlets are installed at each stall for the simple addition of fans when needed. Dedicated lighting is provided for every pair of stalls in addition to general barn lighting. This allows for selective usage of lights when needed to avoid disturbing all of the horses when the barn is otherwise dark.

There are 12 generous 12' x 14' stalls with (non-rusting) aluminum doors and grills with a 'champagne' finish. The doors are mounted on a smooth track and can be easily operated one-handed. Stall walls provide ventilation and are removable to allow for larger configurations, for example in the case of breeding operations.

Paddocks

Each stall has its own (fenced-off) all-weather exterior paddocks accessible externally via a large 12 ft. door and internally, via a pair of 'Dutch doors'. On the west side of the barn, all of the stalls also have windows to bring additional light into the barn.

Each paddock is 12' x 20' and is set upon a gravel base with drainage tile and concrete pavers. Under all weather conditions, the paddocks remain free of water pools or mud. Each paddock is partially covered by the eaves of the barn roof.
